The city of Jermuk is located 173 km from the capital Yerevan, near the source of the Arpa River. This is one of three resort cities in Armenia. It is surrounded by mountain ranges reaching heights of 2500-3000 meters, and in the southwest there is the beautiful Arpa gorge. Jermuk is surrounded by forests. Jermuk Waterfall is a natural hydrogeological monument on the right Jermuk tributary of the Arpa River. Falling from a height of about 68 meters, the waterfall creates three dome-shaped terraces, according to the number of collisions of water with lava. It is included in the list of state natural monuments of the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia.
